In our basement there is a cogeneration unit with 20 Kw electric and about 42 Kw thermal performance. About 95% of the heat demand of our hotel is produced with this engine. The electricity produced is consumed largely in our house, a small part is “sold” to the public utilities Passau. Due to the possibility of heat storage in the form of buffers, we try to provide the current at times with the highest power consumption. Thus, we make an additional “small” energy policy contribution.
Our power switches in the rooms prevent that in the absence of our guests useless power is consumed. Only the mini bars are excluded from this saving system.
Since there are only very few days in summer hot enough in Passau, that air conditioning would be necessary, we have agreed an air condition is actually not feasable.
